February 14 (message, massage)
Rob gave me a new fountain pen and beautiful inks for V-day. The pen is a Hero, and I'm already familiar with it, because Rob writes with a silver one, and I have borrowed it on as many occasions. It writes with the finest line I've ever seen in a fountain pen, and it has a beautiful flow, and . . .
What's that, I'm boring you? I'm a pen geek, you say? You don't find a writing instrument a romantic sort of a valentine? Hmph. Well, like they say, if you have to ask, you'll never know.So then, does my gift to Rob make more sense to you—a massage table? Now we're going in the right direction? You approve?
But honestly, a pen can be quite a sweet gift from your sweetie, especially if early on in marriage your spouse affectionately dubbed you a "bat poet."

I think the pen is SUPER cool. I love it. And the massage table...genius! Sounds so wonderfully nice.
Of course, you would appreciate it, Liz, you writer you. I have already run it out of ink nearly twice!
And the table is great to have. My entire knowledge of massage comes from a Dorling Kindersley book, but at least that's a start.
Love the pen...for my own reasons, and for the part on "Say Anything" when he says, "I gave her me heart and she gave me a pen."
Sounds like love to me.
Oh, I'm a fool for a fine fountain pen. That's a perfect Valentine gift.
