Blog flu

A silly celebratory springtime song for the sisters of Bloggywood:

(sung to the tune of "I Often Go Walking")

I often go shopping for second-hand treasures
And I rarely pay out for duds that are new,
But I can't deny that it gives me real pleasure
To think that now I look exactly like you.

O bloggers, you sneezed and I picked up your virus--
In Wal-Mart, no less! Guess immunity's done;
I've busted out rosebuds, carnations, and iris!
So glad you're contagious--it's great girly fun.

Those blooms are busting (love the pun) out everywhere! I even bought one for a friend. Only $1! That's like retail Nirvana.

This shirt must be a Utah novelty?? I looked for about 15 mintues last night without finding a single on at our Wal-Mart. Also, you can't buy it online.

Geo I LOVE this photo! It's beautiful. You paired the viral with such a gorgeous necklace.

Wow.

And welcome.

CW- Picked one up for a friend, but not for you? Please explain!

hey. is that a toilet in the background?

cw: A buck? You mean I coulda had five for the price of one? Was that in AF?

carblemarble: Maybe it is a regional thing, I dunno. I looked up White Stag to see if I could find it for you online, but no dice. I wonder if one of these bloggerettes with the Af connection, or somebody who lives near the 54th South Wal-Mart in Salt Lake could hook you up. What size are you, and what colors do you love?

P.S. It's nice to meet you!

c jane: Thanks! I borrowed that necklace from my granny. (Sadly, I didn't buy her one of these shirts because she's allergic to low-cut.)

lorien: Yes, it is a toilet. Good throne recognition! Don't you think it lends a nice ambience to my photo? I thought a self-portrait shot in The Library would communicate that I am as intelligent as I am beautiful . . . .

Gee Lovely, you really ARE lovely!

My Walmart aint got NUTHIN' like that! Your AF Walmart is out of control--it's way better than ours. Geo, you look just lovely in that photo and I LOOOVE Gram's necklace, too. Someday I might get more ambitious about beading and jewlry-making....after I'm done person-making. (Thanks for the hearty congrats over at my site--we are feeling pretty festive over here, too!)

Actually it was the Orem Wal-Mart. Monday. They had been marked down to $3. Sold! Then after I rang it up the cashier told me all clearance was another $2 off. $1. Nirvana, I tell you. I hear they're all gone now. I should've bought a year's supply.

And I forgot to mention. You look lovely. I also love that you called the bathroom "The Library."

Okay, that's it. I get the most compliments on my looks when I've got my face mostly hidden, so I think it's time to break my piggy bank and buy myself a nice mask. How about this one? It goes well with the viral shirt. But I actually like this one better and it might go with more of my clothes.

Ours is called The Office, more specifically, The Little Office. You know, where you do the paperwork. Lovely ambiance.

love the song, love the artsy viral toilet shot. you are beautiful, face or not. (prettier with the face, of course.)

Geo, WHATever about prettier-without-the-face comments. You could give a glimpse of your little toe and we'd line up to praise its curve and color.

Re. the shirt: man, I'm starting to feel seriously left out of some cool club. You might even get me to go to Walmart!

carblemarble said...

Ah, help would be great... Unfortunately the shipping would be at least tripple the cost of the shirt. (Utah to Oklahoma)

Nice to meet you too!

lorien: The Office, huh? Ha! I can't possibly sit on the impulse to comment about how you are mixing business and pleasure . . . .

rachel: Thanks for the praise, but do let me assure you that the toilet isn't viral--so you needn't be worried should you ever come for a visit.

becca: I've been thinking about toe shots all morning. You may have to eat those words--my pinkies are of the wierd variety. Your toes, on the other hand, are tres photogenic. Has anyone here besides rachel and me seen becca's gorgeous feet?

Also, it was this group of bold women that gave me the courage to temporarily overcome my (healthy?) fear of Wal-Mart.

carble: You have a point, but if somebody (imsewfunny? anyone? anyone?) can find you one for a buck or three, it woudn't be so bad. Think it over and post your preferences and your plea if it feels right. : )

So pretty, Geo! So so pretty...

carblemarble said...

Okay, here is my plea... I would need an XL, if anyone is willing to ship to OK... let me know and we can work it out. Thanks.

Geo said...

~j.: Gosh. Thanks!

carble: Hope you get a line on one of these soon. My fingers are crossed. It might just change your life!

I've been meaning to tell you--that song has been flittering about in my head all week! And, I have that shirt, as well. Ha ha. In fact, I have two: white and blue. How could I pass it up for four dollars? I get lots of compliments on it and even though it has long sleeves, it's nice and thin for spring.

Bluebell said...

p.s. can we get a close-up of that necklace??

Geo said...

bluebell: It's stuck in your head too now? Sorry. I'm just getting you ready for Mother's Day.

Here's your blow-up of the necklace.

I always get compliments when I wear my viral too. I like it so much in spite of my not being the floral type that I wish now I'd gotten a couple more colors.
