Oh-eight, oh-eight, oh-eight, don't tell me!

I went to two out-of -town weddings in two different cities today. Then I was in a wreck and totalled my car. I wasn't able to make it to either of the receptions this evening, though I had the very best intentions. Sorry, my young friends. Happy honeymooning.

P.S. My head hurts. But at least it's still on.

What? I'm thinking you're OK since you just posted, but my stars Geo!

I am banged up some but generally okay in body. And mentally better since the big shock began to wear off. Thank heaven and everyone in it the folks in the other car were kept safe—mothers and babies in a hulking SUV. I think I won't sleep for a while for the fright of what could have been . . . at either end of the damage.

We are now carless. But it could be worse.

Oh dear. You're going to be really sore tomorrow (which is today). Car wrecks are quite traumatizing. I'm so sorry, but glad you're OK.

Yikes! I'm glad you're okay, too! How scary! And no car . . . hugs to you!

Oh my goodness! Are ou OK???

Yep, Bev, I'm okay. I'll be sore for a while, and carless for potentially much longer, but I am okay. I've got a very exciting colorful arm. The rest of my crayon box is hiding beneath a long skirt today. My brain works as well as it ever did(?) and I'm glad to be here.

LIZ. Thanks. It's a little on the colorful side, eh? I wish I could issue 3-D glasses.

DARLING BILLY. Do you consider eating too much apple pie being gentle with oneself? Then I was very very gentle with myself today.

oh my! I hope you're feeling better, or that you will be very soon. What a bummer.

RYNELL. I'm okay. My arm is turning colors like a mood ring, so I'll be entertained for days!

You'll do anything to avoid contact with the Nigel & Lois Pflaumenbaum family, huh?

We stayed for the entire reception hoping to see you guys. We saw Chris, did he know? Who was that girl with him? he didn't introduce her.

We're very glad all parties are not seriously injured. Wish we had an extra car for you.

p.s. They cut the cake at 8:08, they tried for 8:08:08, but missed it in all the excitement and all the people with cameras saying "Look over here! What time is it? Smile!" See? don't you feel like you were there?

NIGEL. I wish I had avoided that red Suburban half so well as I avoided the Pflaumenbaums on 08.08.08! Thanks for re-enacting the cake moment for me. You are the soul of kindness. We were bummed about not making it to the reception. We knew you guys would be there, and we were ready to par-tay!

REBECCA. I can't believe how thoughtful you guys were this morning. I'm overwhelmed! You and your fella are such examples of friendship and kindness to us. Let's talk SOON.
