c-dub: Just keep screaming . . . just keep screaming . . . Hey! I feel them echoing in my guts! Thanks!
bluebell: More pretty noise! Thanks! I am happy too, and I'm glad to have your company in prayer. If your goosebumps persist, just don't be in a rush to shave your legs in the morning. Stand under the hot water for a while first.
livs: Phooey, "only blog friends"! Phoo! A friend is a friend. Thanks for volunteering for cheering squad duty!
jamie: Trust me, I can deal with laughing at myself, but I wouldn't break my own heart to do it. This is the real deal, chica.
sue-do: Oh, how gracious you are. You're welcome. It's MY PLEASURE!
b. again: Doncha jes' wanna jig?
becca: Yeah, I thought I saw Matmoo sneaking around with a camera. And me in my company jammies, unslept, with no makeup—ack! Aw, but who cares? Send me the video!
Very happy for you. Babies are the sweetest miracles. Obviously you're excited...but isn't it also familiar...like meeting an old friend...just in a teeny, tiny package.
Queen: I feel very honored to have your royal self stop by! Thanks! You are so right about the familiarity. It's quite strong. I started writing a private journal to this little person almost immediately, and it's like this is not a new conversation at all, just a continuation of something we began a long time ago. Your comment made me smile.
emmie, carrot, everyone: Thank you! I am happily shouting that from my heart to you all. And my heart's got great lung capacity.
peef: Sometimes really tired, but please kick me if I complain. April, but I don't know just when yet. I'll have to have a C-section (boo), so it'll be a scheduled thing anyhow.
liz: I've been doing a lot of staring and gasping myself. And I keep thinking that too—it's finally MY time . . . OUR turn. Really, it's beyond astonishing. Crazy timing, crazy life, but that's always been my way, somehow. Did I choose this pattern, or was it chosen for me? It'll be interesting to find out someday. Less than a week after I learned I was pregnant, I was visiting my sister-in-law's ward in Pokey, and while I was sitting with her and Rob and my tiny niece, some tactless lady in the row ahead of us turned around and asked if I was the baby's grandma. Of course I cringed inside and hated her for a few moments, but later I forgave her and remembered to laugh at myself. What's pride? Not MY friend for sure, and never has been. I've joked for some time now about Rob and me being like Abraham and Sarah—and now I get to see what it feels like to be ancient and pregnant. It feels JUST GREAT.
azucar: I love your three-in-one comment. Love it. Love it. And I can't tell you how much I adore that song, and how often it has made me cry great fat tears of my own. And now they're welling up again. Thanks for the love.
~j.: Thanks for spoiling your mascara for me too. Your yays have heft.
C JANE: That is right, so right. I am neck deep in ALL those same feelings. And I have thought of you and hoped you would be heartened by my news. You have every reason to be. This isn't about or for me and Rob alone. I feel that so intensely. More thoughts on this subject later . . . . But many hugs to you from this ever-expanding and hopeful belly.
rynell: Thanks! It feels very good to share this news, even if it does seem early to mention it.
kalli ko: We are casting about, trying to find the right middle name—we currently have every baby name book known to man checked out from various libraries. I'm still wide open!
lindy: Thank you. Coming from a good and a happy mom, that means a lot!
I'm not a regular around here, but I do stalk and I am delighted at your news! Really, new life is a miracle every time, but an especially sweet one for those who have a longer wait. Congratulations! You will be a beautiful mother.
Georgia!! Congratulations is not enough . . . "praise be to all that is good and true" feels closer to what I want to say.
Bless you and yours in the coming weeks and months.
and sometime when you have a minute go look at the photo in your "who loves you baby" book with me sitting next to the paper with your name on it. The profile of the words - or rather - the shape the end of the lines makes appears to be a profile of a prgenant belly. That's when I knew your baby was on its way. I know it sounds hokey, but it's what I felt at the time :)
melody: I would never discount a "feeling" like that, especially from someone as in tune as you. It's exciting, really, and a little giddying too. Thank you for sharing that with me. As well for the congratulations and blessings! xoxoxoxoxo
Georgia, I am so excited for you! You and Rob are so awesome, we are dancing for joy and keeping you in our prayers. Darren says that the name "Dracula" is available since our neighbors decided to change their baby's name to Harvey. We love you and are very happy for you!
rachel b.: What a TREAT to have YOU here reading! I know for a fact that you and your family can do the Dance of Joy like nobody else, having seen you in action with my own two beady little eyes. Thanks, thanks, thanks! Tell Darren it might go well with Aardwolf (Auntie Jeanne's old favorite), and I'm considering it. 'Preciate the suggestion. Love y'all too!
anna: I so so so so so wish we could whoop and scream together in person! My lentil wants to meet her auntie. I LOVE YOU.
I've been visiting this blog and lots of others that you read (some that are your sisters', I think?) for some time. This made me cry. Your comments here made me cry.
Hello, shoeaddict. Welcome! Thank you so much for leaving your sweet comment. I really believe in sharing joys and, as you said, finding hope in the good things that happen around us. I always feel sick when people try to turn happiness into a competition, you know what I mean? Celebrating together and taking heart . . . and mourning together too, when that time comes around . . . is so important. Thanks for speaking up. It's funny, but your saying what you did buoyed my spirits when they were beginning to flag.
luckyzmom: Welcome! Any mom of Lucky's is a mom of mine . . . no wait, I mean a friend . . . er . . . huh? Well, anyhow, welcome, and thanks for dancing!
