PIF, PIK-style

I read about a new viral joy spreading through the blogosphere, and it sounds like fun to me. It's called the Pay It Forward Craft Exchange. So far, I've missed out on being one of the payees, but I still want to jump on the bandwagon.

Here's the deal:

"I will send a handmade gift to the first 3 people who leave a comment on my blog requesting to join this PIF exchange. I don’t know what that gift will be yet and you may not receive it tomorrow or next week, but you WILL receive it within 365 days. That is my promise! The only thing you have to do in return is pay it forward by making the same promise on your blog."

There you go. Who wants to play? I'll even up my personal number to 5 commitment-friendly commenters, but those who come on board may keep theirs to 3. I'm just feeling crazy generous today, heavy on the crazy. (Six days till camp!)(!)(!)(!)(!)(!)(!)

Speaking of Young Women camp, maybe next year we'll give MIA Shalom the slip and try this place instead.

Already, two people I would LOVE to make something for! Now, who else?

Please me!

Stacie, do you have a blog? That's a vital element for this exchange. Let me know YES quickly, before the other three exchange slots get spoken for. Good luck!

can I play???

J'oga—check.

That makes three! Two left.

Dear linkless Stacie: Please hurry and drop a lead to your blog, so you won't become luckless Stacie!

Me, too, (even though you don't know me from Adam), if I may. I saw your post on Segullah. This sounds very fun! Can I play?

Geo said...

Wendy: Of course, of course!—Check.

And welcome!

One slot left. Stacie, link now, or forever hold your pee. Or something like that!

Okay, I've just left a message for the only Stacie I can think of, and if she comes back and confirms, then we've got our five PIF players. Leave your comment here if you want to be first runner-up, would-be player #6.

Geo,
could it be I'm not to late to bid for the final spot? Do you know that I have a family blog?
NV

Nevada Nohno: Yes, oh, yes, you may have a spot. Check. But you'll have to send me info about where to send your giftie. This year. Sometime. You know. xo.

STACIE: If you are my long-time favorite Stacie who eats so well, knits so welll, writes so well, raises children so well, takes photos so well, and gardens like an Edener, then I KNOW you have a blog, and you can have spot #6 . . . or #3 since that's what you really signed up for . . . and now I am perfectly satisfied with the arrangements. Please let me know how to mail you something. This year. Sometime. You know. xo.

Okay, everyone, my accounts will be settled by 1 August 2008. Now get your own commitments posted on your blogs are start PIF-ing!

This sounds so fun!

I must admit I am not crafty.
Sad, but true.
Will you be a dear and play along with my 8 random things tag instead? After you return from camp and recover, if need be....:)

Geo, I fear that I too have modified my offering. I am not so crafty these days so I offered what I feel is an equally exciting gift---I will do style tests for the first three commenters on my room makeover. I'm sorry If I dissapointed you. NV

Geo said...

Rynell: You're a word-crafter, aren't you? A family-crafter? A life-crafter? Pshaw.

And see? You've crafted a fun opportunity for several of us to randomly yammer about ourselves. What could be better . . . ?!

As for you, Nohno, I thought you knew me better than that. I'm all about tweaking and improvising. The only thing that disappoints me is that I won't be one of your extreme makeovers. (Your family blog is not open to the leering public, right? So I can't even see the results? Boo.)

can I still play?

I was too late to play the first time, so I left speechless. Now I'm back to see if you're back yet and how was your trip?

Miss you!

Dang it! I've been too busy with life to blog . . . but this looks like fun.

Good Karma to you.

Love, love you . . . come visit my blog when you have a minute. I have news!

I just wanted to shower you with praise for actually offering to craft things for others.... In girl scouts I tried to make matching shorts for me and my cabbage patch kid, with disastrous results.... I salute you.

Geo said...

peef: Yeah. You can be Stacie since she never came back and claimed herself.

c-dub: Speechless is how I don't like to see you. I couldn't stand a dearth of Dalene.

melody: It's hard cutting this off at six. Suddenly I want to gift all my pals . . . .

Your good news is fantastic!

livs: I think it was the Cabbage Patch kid that hexed your efforts. I have one someplace in a box, but I'm a little afraid of her.
