Monkeying around

In preparation for little Sophie Mustard, I've decided it's time to start the nesting process early. My furniture's looking awfully tired, so I'm thinking of starting with a few reupholstery projects. First, I'd like to get some input. How do you feel about this look?

Amazing!

Have you seen any pictures of La Yen's Jooj's room? It's all sock monkey, all the time. It's adorable.

After looking at the chaircouture.com website I asked myself just that. How do you decorate around something so outrageous? But a part of me says hey--what if THAT chair was like my Australia? You know, Alexander and the terible, horrible, no good very bad day---doesn't he have a chair that he calls Austraila? I think I could use a magic chair like that. A portal to transport me to another dimension when this one became a little too much. Shouldn't a magic chair look like it doesn't belong because it came from another place? Hmmmmm

I'd love to see some pictures of jooj's room, I need some convincing.
Would you be knitting this yourself, Geo?

Sitting in that chair wouldn't be so comfortable... and that's what's MOST important (go ahead and argue with me, design enthusiasts). But the dress... now THAT would be cozy!

Exactly.

ONLY if you get the matching dress, of course.

Only if she's going to wear the sock monkey dress to prom.

I want a sock monkey.

I also want to see pictures of Jooj's room.

Okay, everyone, so it really is the dress I want, not the chair, but I figure we're way past going-to-the-prom stage by now (whew), so how else am I supposed to get my monkey fix?

nohno, I have a magic chair like that! Correction: there is a chair like that in the family someplace, one I helped my SIL create from a D.I. find, lots of chicken wire, and papier mache. It is technicolor wild and even has eyes. I'm trying to find a photo of it now—one look at this strange throne and you'll be instantly convinced it's many times better than a magic carpet.
