11:11

Do you ever get hung up on a number, a time number? I mean, do you ever notice that you're noticing that particular time with an odd regularity?

For a long stretch a while back it seemed every time I checked the clock (and I'm not a clock-watcher), it was exactly on the hour. Uncanny.

And now it's happening again. Suddenly I seem to check my iPhone for the time or notice a clock at exactly 11:11 almost every day, a.m. or p.m. A couple days this week it's happened morning and night. It's not my goal.

Strange amusements. Huh. I attach no deep meaning to 11:11, but I do find it interesting that it seems to be following me around. I wonder how much longer this stretch will last. It's been happening pretty steadily since the end of August, I know.

Anybody else got a Magic Moment like this?

I always notice 11 11, especially on digital clocks ... makes me think of Spinal Tap.

That's so funny Georgia! Casey brought to my attention that he always seems to look at the clock at 11:11 as well. It must be catching since now I find the same thing happening to me as well. I'm not superstitious, but it is interesting. I wonder if there's a research project here....

Mine is 12:34. It has been that way for me now for several years. I keep wondering what is going to happen at 12:34 one day.

JAMIE MELIN SAYS: I read a talk by Ed Pinegar while I was in teh MTC that said something like if you have a problem obeying with exactness/ doing what you're told, then make your own rules, but raise the bar (something like that). I got it in my head that getting up at 6:30 was gonna be too hard, so raising the bar and getting up any earlier was just out of the question. But darn it all if I didn't wake up at 6:17, every morning for about 10 months straight. Even when I woke up a little earlier and decided to not look at the clock and just run to the restroom and start my day, when I did look, it would be 6:17. FREAKY.

I liked this band in highschool called twothirtyeight. Ever since then I am constantly followed by 238! Like, times, gas prices (a year ago), etc. It's awesome.
