Love plus one

May I introduce to you, the one and only, The Tribe?
(Pretty, aren't they? The two tall ones at the far left are still up for grabs, in case you're hoping for an in. Otherwise, you'll have to wait a few years for the next crop of blondes to ripen.)

Here's the one [right] we're missing (terribly).
(She may also be up for grabs, but you'll have to ask her yourself.)

Here's the one [left] I love best.
(Grab him and you die.)

Finally, I get to see the face of Bright Street -- it's as lovely as your writing (which I happen to adore.)

Your checks are in the mail, ladies!

b.: I like to dress in dark colors around The Tribe because they give off so much light—I can absorb it better that way.

(Also, I just didn't feel like ironing that day, and this was all I had in my closet that wasn't wrinkled.)

P.S. There is one other brunette in the family, my BIL who is standing right behind me. And then there is my SIL who insists she's brunette—she's the one holding the tiny baby in the pink sweater (my namesake). I still can't get past thinking she's dark blonde. She's certainly not a black hole, anyhow (and that's a good thing).

Beautiful people, beautiful pictures. And I absolutely LOVE the one of you and your main squeeze!

Thanks, c-dub. Some dear family friends took the photos. Most of the ones of Rob and me have one important body part or other cut off, so this is about as close to an actual portrait as we got with this batch.

One day I'm going to be able to afford Shannon.

i love that picture of you with rob too. and thanks for counting me as brunette; my blonde days are long gone!

p.s., we need to exchange photos!

p.p.s., i could be just "brown". that's how i always describe it. can you explain the subtle differences?

Geo said...

becca: Yes, indeedy, we do need to swap.

Brown is a beautiful color to be, whether it's skin or hair we're talking about. I don't know why you are still dark blonde in my mind, when clearly you feel at one with and exhibit the symptoms of brunetteness, but . . . well, it's all a continuum of brown one way or the other anyhow. Just like my green & gold eyes—I have learned that genetically speaking they are actually a version of brown.

Bottom line: I love brown and I love you.

(But what do we say about henna-ed hair? Am I now red instead?)

That's quite the blonde family. You are the most beautiful of them all. You look so lovely, especially in the last photo. Are you going to be taking profile shots as your belly blossoms?

You are lovely, as are your loved ones. Thank you for sharing these photos. (and I love how you refer to the "crop of blondes".)

I think I will start calling you "Gorgeous Georgia." (It has a nice ring to it.)
