January 7 (strangers)

Kind-hearted ministering angels who brought the sacrament and a Helen Keller(!) quote.

I Love these people. They even come and bring the Sacrament to the staff. Even when it seems that I won't be able to get into the spirit of taking the sacrament at work, when I do....it makes a difference in my day. Sometimes it just stinks to work on the Sabbath, but these folks and their selfless service make it a little easier.

How cool that you know those two! Next time you see them, will you please tell them your friend really appreciated their service? When my mom was dying from cancer, we had her home teachers come to the house and bring us the sacrament, and it was always such a moving experience. It was the same when these people arrived. Very sweet. Made me cry. So easy to take important things for granted, eh?

Holy cool they brought a Helen Keller quote, in addition. I have been an appreciative recipient of the sacrament brought to the house pretty much ever since the boys were born. It's a unique experience, and I appreciate the weekly effort to let me have that peace.

"Holy cool" is my new favorite phrase! Is it an original, Liz?

Receiving the sacrament in that setting is always sort of astonishing to me. I guess because it underscores the importance of even just one little soul to God. All that the sacrament represents would have been just as eagerly given and done if there was only one person who could benefit from the giving and doing. It's humbling, an experience everyone should have.
